AEW Rankings (Dec. 6, 2019): Jon Moxley remains #1

AEW released their latest rankings (Dec. 6, 2019). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.

Men:

AEW

The only change this week was Kenny Omega jumping over PAC. Omega must have had a victory on the yet to air Dark. I was hoping for Fenix to crack the top 5 with his win over Trent, but none of the ranked wrestlers lost this week. I like how the records are starting to look legit with wins in this particular men’s ranking.

Women:

AEW

The women’s rankings had potential for the most intrigue this week after top ranked Hikaru Shida lost to Kris Statlander this week. Statlander bumped into the top 5 to replace Bea Priestly. Nyla Rose jumped up two spots after squashing Leva Bates. Shida remained at the top despite the defeat to Statlander.

Shida at the top is the right call. It might seem odd since she lost, but Statlander is the only woman with a claim to leapfrog her. Since that was Statlander’s first singles bout in AEW, she is still an unknown commodity. I would have had Rose at 3 and Emi Sakura at 2. In my opinion, winning against inferior competition isn’t worth enough to hop over both Britt Baker and Sakura.

Tag Team:

AEW

The tag team rankings are the same as last week. I’m glad AEW didn’t try any funny business by giving weight to the Young Bucks trios win over Santana & Ortiz this week.

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
