MLW Roundup: Zero Hour matches, Alicia Atout multi-year deal, more!

Let’s catch up on this week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of Fusion.

Best of 2019

Saturday night’s Fusion will be the best of 2019. The feature bout is LA Park against Jacob Fatu from Saturday Night SuperFight. Timothy Thatcher versus Davey Boy Smith Jr. is the other advertised match. There will also be video for the top 10 craziest things in MLW.

Both of those matches are worth watching again, or the first time if you missed out. The hook for me is the top ten craziest moments. MLW could probably fill a top 30 list for an entire episode, so it will be very intriguing to see what made the cut for the top 10.

MLW Fusion airs on beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue Saturday nights at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT. New episodes are posted on YouTube Saturdays at 10 pm ET. Fusion is also broadcast in the UK, Ireland, Israel, and Africa.

Zero Hour

Zero Hour is set to take place on January 11 from Dallas, TX. A few more matches were announced this week. The card so far is:

  • Barbed Wire Match: Mance Warner vs Jimmy Havoc
  • Grudge Match: Ross Von Erich vs Tom Lawlor
  • Marshall Von Erich vs MJF (If MJF wins, the Dynasty gets a tag title shot. If not, then no title shot ever again.)
  • National Openweight Championship: Alexander Hammerstone vs Aerostar
  • No Holds Barred: Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs Simon Gotch
  • Richard Holliday vs Savio Vega

The two additions are Davey Boy Smith Jr.’s quest for revenge against Contra and Savio Vega requesting redemption against the Dynasty. Smith wants to inflict pain on a Contra member as payback for a fireball to Teddy Hart’s face. Vega is upset about the Dynasty mocking him after Alexander Hammerstone crushed his legs in a ‘modified’ Nightmare Pendulum. The press release has a great quote from Richard Holliday.

“I will out-wrestle, out-class and outwit this imbecile and show the world that I am the uncrowned champion of the Caribbean… well, at least the nicer resort islands in the Caribbean,” said the cosmopolitan elitist Holliday.

Quick hits

Alicia Atout has signed a multi-year deal with MLW. She has been fantastic so far with her banter and facial expressions. Atout made the following statement:

“I am beyond excited to be the newest member of the MLW family. This is one of the most thrilling announcements I’ve shared with all my loved ones, friends, and fans. It feels surreal; I’ve worked really hard to get to this point and moments like this truly make it all worth it. It feels incredible to finally have a place to call home in wrestling and I can’t wait to create some magic with MLW.”

Once Mance Warner finishes his feud with Jimmy Havoc, it looks like he’ll be wrestling a bear.

I now want to see Ole Mancer fight someone in a bear suit.

Alexander Hammerstone provided a humorous photo that happened during the Opera Cup taping.

After all that squawking last week, Injustice now has a t-shirt for sale.

We’ll close with this cool new shirt for Alexander Hammerstone.

The three colors for the shirt are gold, blue, and daisy. What color is daisy? The word daisy reminds me a Doc Holliday in Tombstone. Is Hammer going to start saying, “You’re a daisy if you do,” “You’re no daisy at all,” and, “I’m your huckleberry,”?

If you want a tip to gain size, try eating cereal like Hammerstone. Simon Gotch also added a wonderful quip.

How is the Zero Hour card stacking up? Are in you for Mance Warner versus a bear? Would you attend Beef Stock?
