Let’s catch up on this week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of Fusion. MLW is getting ready to begin the next phase after Saturday Night SuperFight.
Saturday Night SuperFight Fallout
MLW’s first PPV, Saturday Night SuperFight, ended on a wild note as Jacob Fatu retained the Heavyweight Championship against LA Park. If you missed the coverage, check out the preview & predictions, live results, review, and news of an alliance with AAA. Basil Mahmud posted a photo gallery of the event with killer shots.
Salina de la Renta went off the grid after being speared through a table by LA Park.
For those of you who have recently tried to communicate with Salina and got no response, Salina is currently unable to reply to any messages. More details soon. Thank you pic.twitter.com/FqBsIVxBKc

When one door closes, another one opens. Ricky Martinez may be able to work his way back into Salina’s good graces.
What happened to @salinadelarenta at @MLW last weekend would’ve never happened under my watch. I’ll be back this weekend in Orlando.

Josef Samael burned referee Frank Gastineau via fireball to the face.
By any means necessary. pic.twitter.com/F7NFv7utp1

Gastineau was rushed to the hospital. Samael sent his lack of condolences.
That fallout to MLW’s first PPV should set the future direction with a live episode of MLW Fusion tonight.
Double main event of Fusion
MLW Fusion is celebrating a homecoming in Orlando from the GILT Nightclub. It will feature a double main event of Low Ki vs Timothy Thatcher and Teddy Hart defending the Middleweight Championship against Myron Reed.
Low Ki is coming off a victory over Brian Pillman Jr., while Thatcher participated in the best bout of the PPV in a losing effort against Tom Lawlor. Thatcher should be the favorite due to the huge advantage in measurements, but he may not be 100% after the physical war with Lawlor. If there is a strategical advantage to be manipulated, Low Ki will find it.
Speaking of not being 100%, there is no way Hart will be fully healthy. He entered his title defense against Austin Aries with an injured neck and spine, despite what Hart and his doctors claimed. Aries focused on the sore spots, and I doubt seven days will be enough time to recover. Reed previously had a title opportunity against Hart back in Episode 51. Reed’s frustration with the referee in that match led to his demise. Will Reed be able to keep his eye on the ball against a tenderized Hart?
The show preview also teased a proclamation from the Contra Unit, Mance Warner addressing Jimmy Havoc’s post-match attack, and Tom Lawlor’s future plans.
The full event card as advertised:
- Tom Lawlor vs Davey Boy Smith Jr.
- Falls Count Anywhere: Jimmy Havoc vs Mance Warner
- Timothy Thatcher vs Low Ki
- Middleweight Championship: Teddy Hart (c) vs Myron Reed
- Zeda Zhang vs The Spider Lady
- Ikuro Kwon vs Marshall Von Erich
- Survivor Match: Jordan Oliver & Kotto Brazil vs Gringo Loco & Zenshi
- Mystery Box Battle Royal
- Plus more!
Those bouts will be spread out to air on future Fusion episodes.
MLW Fusion airs on beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue Saturday nights at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT. New episodes are posted on YouTube Mondays at 7 pm ET. Fusion is also broadcast in the UK, Ireland, Israel, and Africa.
King Mo to MLW?
King Mo Lawal entered Bellator 233 last night for his retirement fight. Lawal’s trunks displayed the MLW logo.
Tune in to @BellatorMMA. Some major league surprises coming your way tonight. pic.twitter.com/dwdWg1AQE5
— Court Bauer (@courtbauer) November 9, 2019
As Tom Lawlor noted, King Mo also wore an MLW shirt.
Why the hell is @KingMoFH walking out for his @BellatorMMA fight right now with an @MLW shirt on?
— “Filthy” Tom LawlOr (@FilthyTomLawlor) November 9, 2019
Unfortunately, MLW did not bring luck to Lawal. He was knocked out in Round 1.
With King Mo heading into MMA retirement, it would seem like a perfect move to pick up professional wrestling again. He’s had appearances with TNA in the past. MLW might be a good landing spot for King Mo with grapplers such as Lawlor, Timothy Thatcher, Dominic Garrini, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and others.
