Commentary sends us to break.

Back from commercial, Cody Rhodes makes his entrance.

Tony Schiavone welcomes him to ring and Cody begins, saying he’s not surprised at how blunt the arrival of the Inner Circle has been, or perhaps strategic, as they’ve taken a scalpel to the Elite. But they’ve been looking for a card they could match up against themselves, and the Inner Circle found them. On Saturday he finds himself on the marquee, wrestling the world champion Chris Jericho.

He and Tony have spoken about it, but first he wants to rattle off a few names-- Eddie Graham, “Cowboy” Bill Watts, the American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, all of them were titans in our business, bell to bell and at the box office, and those memories reverberate in our hearts, but for the cold and sterile historians of our business there’s controversy because they weren’t just competitors, they were management.

Just like Cody, and he’s spent the last year shouting to the rooftops about how proud he is of AEW, and this is Ellis Island for pro wrestling, freedom. So when he hears the same criticism attached to his name for being management and being in a title match, he can’t not hear it. So with that said, he’s announcing that if-- “You deserve it!” chants ring out across the crowd and he pauses a minute.

If he loses, he says, he’ll never challenge for the AEW World Championship again!

Jericho’s taken to calling him an entitled millennial bitch, but he’s never read about Y2J’s upbringing being so hard, and as the son of an upper class hockey player, it’s almost like they share the same silver spoon, you stupid dick. He talks about Chris dismissing every accomplishment he’s ever made, but the dirty secret is that Jericho needs this generation more than this generation needs him.

This isn’t about his dad, it’s not about the dead, it’s about the living, his mom, his sister, his wife, the fourteen years it took for him to go from undesireable to un-goddamn-deniable! At Full Gear, he beats Jericho and becomes world champion, and he should let his boys know the ground is rumbling because the Elite are coming and they’re going to eat the Inner Circle alive.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, SCU make their entrance as champions and join the announce team.

Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Third Place Deciding Match)

Grayson and Quen to start, Stu just exploding all over the Private Party man! Quick tags and working him over but Kassidy gets a blind tag, Manhatten Drop sets up an enzuigiri, pop-up stomp and Uno pulls Grayson out! Evil running interference but Isiah sees Stu coming and lights him up with strikes until he gets caught by a huge Rock Bottom! Tag to Uno, drawing him up, backbreaker connects and the tag.

Double whip, flip, Kassidy lands on his feet, kick follows it up but Grayson keeps him from the tag and passes him into a boot from Uno! Passing Isiah to the apron, Evil trips him up, Stu... SLINGSHOT SENTON ATOMICO ON THE APRON! The Dark Order celebrate at ringside and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Uno with a back rake on Kassidy, jawing at Quen, blocking the tack, jockeying for position over a suplex clutch and Isiah hits the straight suplex! Marq with the tag, Dark Order working him right over but unable to put him away! Fatality denied, Quen with a dropkick, knocking Stu off the apron, springboard moonsault for Evil! Off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO!

Tag made, Grayson legal, Marq to the apron, springboard crossbody gets two! Tag to Kassidy, Stu evades, double Pele kick, tag to Uno! Fireman’s carry, into the electric chair... ELECTRIC CHAIR DRIVER ONTO THE KNEE BUT QUEN BREAKS IT UP! Tags made, the Dark Order running hot, upkick-assisted belly-to-belly puts Quen into Isiah, 450 splash... STILL NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP PRIVATE PARTY DOWN!

Tag to Grayson, Gory Special from Uno on Kassidy but he slips out, pass to the apron, back in with Silly String! Tag to Quen, Stu stuck up top... GIN AND JUICE! IT’S OVER!

Private Party win by pinfall with Gin and Juice on Stu Grayson.

Commentary tosses to a video that Chris Jericho sent in.

He’s shown at a table listening to Sammy Guevara prattle on about win before getting up and kissing him on the forehead and leaving. Sammy talks him up while we see Chris chilling with some bubbly in the bathtub. Virgil appears, billed as Soultrain Jones, and talks Y2J up, as do Santana and Ortiz, and Patricia Bobski, who is apparently Jericho’s aunt’s friend from church.

Guevara points out that Chris is the youngest AEW Champion in history, and Jake Hager is shown silently staring before Virgil says Chris is the greatest of all time. We see footage of Y2J training and then talking about how hard it is to be as great as he is. Virgil says he’s like Olive Garden breadsticks-- unlimited, and again Hager is quiet.

Jericho talks about figuring out the best place to go for bubbly and what a responsbility that is, but it’s one he has to face because he is le champion.

Commentary hypes up the card for Full Gear to send us to break.

Back from commercial in time for entrances.

Emi Sakura & Jamie Hayter vs. Riho & Shanna

Riho and Sakura to start, collar and elbow, Emi shoves her away. Portugal’s Perfect Athlete with the front chancery and the tag, double whip, double boot, off the ropes, double bulldog!

Riho off the ropes, wheelbarrow-assisted splash for two! Looking for the northern lights, Sakura holds off long enough for the champ’s back to give out! Off the ropes, Riho with a drop toehold and the Tiger feint kick but Emi blocks and turns it into a rope-hung underhook backbreaker! Tag to Hayter, snap suplex, another one, disdainful stomps, mockingly asking her if she’s okay in Japanese and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Hayter in control with a reverse chinlock but Riho gets the ropes for the break. La Casita, reversed, Sakura kicks out! Backslide, roll through...

Emi Sakura & Jamie Hayter win by pinfall with La Casita from Sakura on Riho.

We get another Brandi Rhodes vignette. This time she’s drinking wine in a red room, talking about how we tried so hard to paint her as a clown we forgot that she’s not stupid. The image flickers repeatedly, showing Awesome Kong as she talks about how with Kong’s body and her brain they can make us long for our worst nightmares. She doesn’t run the women’s division and never wanted to, and she has to ask-- who are the bullies now?

And on that note, we go to break.

Back from commercial in time for entrances.

Brandon Cutler vs. Shawn Spears

Collar and elbow, Spears with a wristlock, Cutler rolls through to a reversal. Shawn reverses back, whip reversed, backflip up and over, kick from the apron, springboard knee lands true, off the ropes, slingshot guillotine leg drop! Shawn Spears wins by pinfall with a running Death Valley Driver.

We get main event entrances but go to break before the match can begin.

Omega and Guevara to start, and Kenny wants Chris! Sammy relents and Y2J comes in... and immediately tags back out. Collar and elbow, Guevara backing him into the ropes, Omega turns him around, Sammy goes behind, waistlock takedown into a front chancery. Reversed to a wristlock, shift to a front chancery, reversed to a wristlock. Arm wringer from Guevara, cover for one.

Back to the front chancery, then trading wristlocks again, Sammy reaching and Kenny paintbrushes the back of his head. Guevara with an arm drag, leap frog, big chops from Omega! Whip across, leaping back elbow, back suplex connects, double whip, double boot, Page tagged in somewhere around there, Kotaro Krusher into a standing shooting star press... NOPE!

Knees, Sammy floats over a suplex, caught in the fireman’s carry but he slips out. Hangman gets a bridging fallaway slam, Guevara with knee lifts and a tag to Jericho! The Inner Circle put boots to him but Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes the save! Kenny back in with the barbed wire broom... AND SANTANA AND ORTIZ HIT THE RING TO BEAT BOTH OF THEM DOWN!
