Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- There was a meeting with Vince McMahon and the Raw crew before last night’s show, according to Wrestling Observer. Management reiterated that the delays were caused by mechanical issues & nothing more, and blamed talent speculation for causing problems.
- They also report that Seth Rollins “attempted to do a rah-rah speech” which included telling people to keep things like this off social media.
- The Observer went on to say Vince left well before knowing there were any problems with the main charter. McMahon’s flight left at 12:40 a.m. local time, about two hours before the wrestlers and crew were supposed to even board their plane.
- Randy Orton personally lobbied McMahon to stay partnered with The Revival, per Fightful.
- WWE added a couple well-known names in behind-the-scenes roles recently. Lance Storm announced on Twitter he’s returning to the company to work as a producer, and PW Insider says CM Punk & Colt Cabana’s trainer Christopher “Ace Steel” Guy is working in Orlando as a coach.
