For one night, Scorpio Sky made everyone believe.
On the night before Thanksgiving, Sky and AEW World Champion Chris Jericho stood toe to toe for a solid 15 minutes. To both men’s credit, AEW really did lead fans down a path that made you believe Sky could do the impossible on Wednesday night.
One moment in particular had Sky just milliseconds away from claiming AEW’s top prize. Off some failed Jake Hager interference, Sky hit Jericho with a TKO for the closest of two counts.

Following a pretty mid-air Code Breaker, Jericho grabbed back momentum. For the second time in the match, Sky found himself caught in the Lion Tamer. Stuck in the center of the ring Sky was forced to tap out.
During his celebration Jericho would apply the Lion Tamer again to an already fallen Scorpio Sky. In mid-hold Jon Moxley’s music hit as he made his way through the Sears Centre Arena crowd.
