Not a good look from Ring of Honor here.
On Thursday (Nov. 24) the husband of ROH Women’s Champion Kelly Klein, BJ Whitmer, took to social media to reveal that she was fired from the company via email.
Now that the cat is out of the bag. Yes, my wife @RealKellyKlein was fired by @ringofhonor COO Joe Koff, via email Tuesday evening. Not a phone call, an EMAIL. Kelly is still very much suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome and was fired while still injured. https://t.co/0Otra5aq4j

Whitmer’s announcement came on the heels of former ROH producer Joey Mercury exiting the company earlier in the month.
Klein would also hop on Twitter to update fans on her health status.
Thank you for asking. I am working with an amazing team of medical professionals to heal properly.

Though symptoms are improving, they are still present.
I will keep listening to my PT and neurologist. And I will keep you guys updated periodically. https://t.co/9mtxsRPkhR
The 33-year-old made her ROH debut in October 2015. Klein would go on to hold ROH’s Women of Honor World Championship on three separate occasions. Klein’s third title reign began just last month when she defeated Angelina Love at Glory By Honor XVII.
ROH has yet to release a public statement on Kelly Klein’s status with the company.
UPDATE: Joey Mercury posted the email ROH Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff sent to Klein. It’s still not good - especially as it’s being done while she’s recovering from an injury which occurred while performing for the company - but it does clarify the means by which ROH is parting ways with Klein and the reason. Specifically, they’re not renewing her contract and it’s because she didn’t show “any remorse” over backing Mercury’s grievances with Ring of Honor and General Manager Greg Gilleland:
How dare she!?!? The nerve. That’s what you get, @RealKellyKlein - hey I wonder who else you sent that nice email to? What if Tomorrow’s Summit was actually the resignation of GG & JK!?!? If it isn’t- I’m more than prepared to get LOUD & specific. Talent deserve this treatment. pic.twitter.com/RY2hPdfyX0

It was after this was posted that Koff issued the statement to PWInsider mentioned in our latest Rumor Roundup:
“We don’t generally discuss personal issues but they seem to have made it public – we didn’t fire [Kelly Klein], we just notified her that we would not be renewing her contract.”
The company is holding a talent summit today in Baltimore. That should be interesting...
