Rankings schmankings.
That was the word from AEW World Champion Chris Jericho following last night’s (Sat., Nov. 9, 2019) Full Gear event in Baltimore. When asked about them, he had this to say:
“I think that the rankings for the tag team division is a bunch of shit because Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho are undefeated as a tag team and we’re not even in the top 5. So here’s what I’m going to do: with the Inner Circle being as hot as we are, Le Champion, with the AEW title around my gorgeous shoulders again, I think it’s time for us to go further. I think the Inner Circle could win the tag team titles, I think the Inner Circle could win those bronze medals, I think the Inner Circle could win the women’s championship, I don’t care. Is there a little person’s championship? I’ll take them on for that too. So this Wednesday at AEW Dynamite, Sammy Guevara and myself, the Inner Circle, will challenge SCU for the AEW tag team championships.”
Not long ago, that match was made official:
The #InnerCircle looks to collect more #AEW gold this Wednesday, November 13th in Nashville as Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara challenge SCU for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

The top 3 in the previously released tag team rankings all lost at Full Gear. That paves the way for Jericho to try to become a double champion.
