AEW was a draw on Tuesday night. Ronda Rousey was not.

Promising news for All Elite Wrestling and TNT on Tues., Oct. 1, as the one hour Countdown to AEW Dynamite show (which you can watch here) drew 631,000 viewers and a .2 rating among 18 - 49 year olds at 8PM eastern.

Those weren’t night winning numbers or anything, but they’re both big improvements over what a similar clip show before All Out did in August - an audience of 390K and a .14 rating. That was on Friday of a holiday weekend, so its apples and oranges, but you still have to think AEW & TNT are happy with those numbers heading into the premiere of Dynamite tonight (Oct. 2).

WWE and E! will be less thrilled with the performance of Total Divas’ ninth season premiere at 10PM eastern. The first episode with Ronda Rousey as a cast member drew 252,000 viewers. That’s more than 100K less than last season’s least viewed episode, and season eight featured several of the least viewed episodes of the show’s run. Until last night.

So, while not head-to-head, that’s how an early skirmish in the AEW/WWE war went. Now on to the main event...
