The fourth of AAA’s ‘big five’ events is going down tonight (Saturday, October 19, 2019). Héroes Inmortales XIII will emanate from Coliseo la Concordia in Orizaba, Veracruz. The card features a steel cage main event, three title bouts, and the Copa Antonio Peña.
Héroes Inmortales XIII can be viewed live for free on AAA’s Twitch channel in English and Spanish. Another option is paying $5 US to subscribe on Twitch and get AAA content on demand.
Check out the Héroes Inmortales XIII preview to get you in the mood.
Join us at 9 p.m. ET for some wild lucha libre action. There are bound to be surprises and unintentional laughs. AAA’s shows never run 100% smoothly. Enjoy the event and have fun chatting it up in the open thread.
Time update: AAA tweeted that the show starts at 9:30 p.m. ET. I don’t know if that means there will be a pre-show match at 9 p.m. ET or 9:30 p.m. ET.
Quick results:
Rey Escorpion lost the main event tag team cage match. The teams were made of feuding tecnicos and rudos: Psycho Clown & Rey Escorpion, Pentagon & Texano, Dr. Wagner Jr. & Averno, Pagano & Chessman. Rey Escorpion and Pentagon were the final two. Pentagon crushed Rey Escorpion with a package piledriver on open chairs then escaped the cage. This match made no sense, but that’s a story for Sunday’s review.
Kenny Omega dethroned Fenix to win the Megacampeonato. A fantastic match full of heavy hitting maneuvers. It appeared that Omega broke Fenix’s nose on one of many running knee strikes. In the end, Omega hit a double underhook sitdown piledriver, a running knee, and his One Winged Angel finisher to win.
Hijo del Vikingo won the Copa Antonio Peña. The 11-luchador Royal Rumble had 60-second intervals. The final two battled to one fall. Hijo del Vikingo outlasted Taurus in an amazing fight. Vikingo won it on a sunset flip powerbomb on the apron then a reverse 450 splash.
The order of elimination was:
1. Iron Kid by La Hiedra
2. La Parka Negra by Faby Apache
3. Tritton by Taurus
4. La Hiedra by Faby Apache
5. Aerostar by Monster Clown
6. Monster Clown by Murder Clown
7. Dave the Clown by ??? (camera missed it)
8. Murder Clown by Faby Apache
9. Faby Apache by Taurus
10. Taurus pinned by Hijo del Vikingo
Winner: Hijo del VikingoLumberjack Match: Octagon Jr., Puma King, & Dinastia defeated Abismo Negro Jr., Arez, & Super Fly. Octagon Jr. picked up the pin via 450 splash onto Abismo Negro Jr.
Daga won the Latin American Championship over Drago. A flustered finish involved GREEN MIST to Abismo Negro Jr., who was seconding Daga, and a huge kick by Daga to Drago’s jewels. The referee missed it all and counted the win for new champ Daga.
Lady Maravilla & Villano III Jr. retained the Mixed Tag Championship against Keyra & Latigo and Big Mami & Niño Hamburguesa. Villano hit Niño with a cutter off the apron onto a table. A concerned Mami looked on. Maravilla came in with a full force chair shot to Mami’s head. Maravilla pinned Mami to win. After the match, Niño was dumped by both Maravilla and Mami.
Lady Shani, Octagoncito, Draztick Boy, & Pimpinela Escarlata defeated Vanilla, Demus, Mamba, & Australian Suicide. After a spot where everyone gets to fly high onto everyone else, Shani pinned Mamba with a bridging suplex. AEW’s Michael Nakazawa accompanied Mamba and squirted tons of baby oil all over the place on numerous occasions.
La Parka opened the show to thank AAA for taking in his son, Karis la Momia Jr. Konnan’s music hit. He came down flanked by La Parka Negra, Arez, and Latigo. Shit talking ensued. La Parka cleaned house. Dave the Clown ran in with a chair. La Parka was beaten down. Hit Vampiro’s music. He came in to clean house. Vamp peppered Konnan with punches in the corner, but Konnan low-blowed him. Konnan and troops put the boots to La Parka and Vampiro. The rudos stood tall.
