Well ain’t this some $#!+...
While a guest - along with AEW World champeon Chris Jericho - on The Rich Eisen Show this week, Kevin Smith explained how Dynamite wasn’t supposed to be the only pro wrestling/sports entertainment program he plugged Jay & Silent Bob Reboot on last week. But when he and his hetero life partner Jason Mewes got a ton of buzz for their work with All Elite in Washington, D.C....
“We were supposed to go do WWE, me and Jay … when The Rock was - SmackDown. And then the morning after, cause we were on the AEW show, trended, like there was a lot of coverage and stuff. And so the next morning we were told that WWE was like, ‘you can’t come on anymore.’ And they canceled us. They kicked me and Jay off the show!”
Which led Jericho, who’s been known to turn a phrase or two in his time, to quip:
“The first casualty in the wrestling war was Jay and Silent Bob.”
Now, SmackDown was a pretty packed show. Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin “weren’t needed”, and they only had a few seconds for the main event match.
But still, how you gonna do white Morris Day & Jerome like that?
