Rumor Roundup (Jan. 26, 2019): Tag push, Andrade turn, Rumble surprises, Abyss’ WWE role, more!

WWE.com

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Wrestling Observer reports WWE is planning a big push for the tag division to counter All Elite’s presumed focus on a Young Bucks centered tag scene.
  • A bayface team of Andrade & Rey Mysterio is being discussed as part of the tag push, says The Observer. PW Insider says Sin Cara may be part of that stable, and it’s not clear if Zelina Vega will be kept with Andrade after he’s turned.
  • Kurt Angle, Bray Wyatt, and Velveteen Dream are the names coming up the most in backstage conversations about surprise Rumble entrants, per WrestleVotes.
  • Abyss and Sonjay Dutt are expected to work as producers on the main roster shows and not NXT, a WWE source told PW Insider Elite Audio.
  • WWE is “also looking to add another couple of other producers so there may be some others coming in.”

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct.
