Rumor Roundup (Sept. 8, 2018): Shawn Michaels return, Pentagon NXT talk, Brock Lesnar fight, more!

El Rey

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • The general feeling on Shawn Michaels seems to be that if he comes back for a tag team match at the next Saudi Arabia show as has been rumored, he’ll likely work another match later.
  • WrestleVotes indicates they have sources who haven’t shot down Pentagon coming to WWE. There are also other images floating around that seem to indicate he’s signing with NXT for a singles run.
  • Per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar still hasn’t signed to fight Daniel Cormier as of right now but he’s training to get ready for it.
  • Velveteen Dream working the EVOLVE shows this weekend was his idea, says the Observer.
  • Marty Scurll told Sean Mooney on his Prime Time podcast that he didn’t go over his time limit in his match with Okada as originally reported but that he was told by Nick Jackson not to cut anything from their match.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct!
