Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Not surprising, but per Wrestling Observer the reason Shawn Michaels might be coming out of retirement for a tag match on Nov. 2 in Saudi Arabia is because that’s “the big money show”.
- ALL IN earned $458,525 at the gate from its sold out audience, according to the latest Observer Newsletter, which also says FITE made over $1 million from iPPV buys from the show and the Starrcast podcasting event tied to it (approximately 20 - 25K buys between the two).
- Speaking of that show and money, the Observer also says Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, Adam Page, and The Young Bucks do plan to stick together in their upcoming contract negotiations and the five of them going to WWE “is an option”.
- Fandango was in Birmingham, Alabama this week, per PW Insider. He had surgery to repair a torn labrum at the Andrews clinic in July and said at the time he’d be out six months or more.
- Pro Wrestling Sheet reports Justin Credible has been arrested in Connecticut for violating a restraining order. He was arrested less than 30 days ago for a similar offense.
