Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch’s Women’s title match should be made official for Hell in a Cell tonight, and is expected to take place inside Hell in a Cell.
- Disney taking Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 off their 2019 schedule after firing writer/director James Gunn and Dave Bautista’s outspoken denouncing of that firing has increased speculation Batista could be back in WWE for WrestleMania 35.
- As mentioned yesterday, a major factor in ALL IN’s time issues was Marty Scurll and Kazuchika Okada going 12 minutes over. The production team was said to be “losing their mind” trying to get them to end the match with “painfully obvious” signals, says PW Insider.
- Heat over the time crunch led Scurll to decide not to come out for the post-show curtain call and speeches, according to Insider.
- PW Insider also brought word Joey Mercury was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Florida after he was reported for sleeping in his car outside a hotel the morning before ALL IN. The ex-WWE star and current ROH trainer agented matches and was supposed to work gorilla at the show, but those duties were obviously covered by others.
