Kenny Omega says he will ‘probably’ be at New Japan/ROH Madison Square Garden show in 2019

Kenny Omega’s current contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling reportedly expires on Jan. 31, 2019. That’s a couple of months before NJPW teams up with Ring of Honor for a historic event at Madison Square Garden over WrestleMania weekend. Considering the success of both ALL IN — which sold out in under 30 minutes — and the aforementioned joint show — which also sold out quickly — WWE is rumored to be planning to make big money offers to top stars like Omega to lure them away.

Naturally, then, he’s being asked about all this. Today, at the ALL IN press conference, he was asked about being at the MSG show next year and had this to say:

“Will I be at Madison Square Garden? A sold out affair, we’re all very excited about it, a joint project between New Japan and Ring of Honor. If it wasn’t already sold out I would say ‘how else could you sell it out?’ But it’s already sold out so all I can say is I will probably be there. Whether I’m needed there or not, I don’t know, but I would love to be... I would love to have a physical presence at that show, yes.”

That’s a perfectly political response. The door, it would seem, has been left open for any possibility.
