The 7th year of The S3 is off to F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S start

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - the April 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown & 205 Live, NXT & ROH TV from Wednesday, Thursday's Impact Wrestling, and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from April 15 - 21, 2018.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

Just who everyone picked to win the first vote of 2018 - 19, right?

  • In addition to a (finally) successful cash-in, Team Blue ruled The Standings... and this before people declared them the winner of the Shakeup!
  • Cock-Nak-Amura (not gonna stop trying to make that happen), The Iconic Duo (really don’t want to spell their name with three ‘I’s anywhere I don’t have to, the new General Manager (yay!) and the old General Manager (yay... or should I say YES!) all earned a lot of votes.
  • The night in between WrestleMania and SmackDown wasn’t shut out, though. Two things which will always get some love? Breaking a McMahon’s arm and showing up to call Roman Reigns a loser.
  • A pair of new faces rounded out our first week of season 7, with a former NXT Women’s champion showing up at Raw as did a former Impact champion.

The S3: 2018 - 19, Week 1

1. Carmella
2. Shinsuke Nakamura
3. Billie Kay
4. Peyton Royce
5. Paige
6. Daniel Bryan
7. Ronda Rousey
8. Samoa Joe
9. Ember Moon
10. Bobby Lashley

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

Being week one, the year-to-date S3 is identical to what you see above. But as we get farther away from WrestleMania 34, and closer to 35, the Year Seven Top Ten will be posted in this space (and, roughly quarterly, a complete Standings featuring everyone who’s earned annual points).

Well, things certainly got all shook up. We do our best to keep track of all the events of the week in our sections on Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Impact, the independent scene, so consult those if they’re helpful (and also check in with Kyle Decker’s essential Weekly Viewing Guide) - then tell us who sports entertained you the most.

After you do that, we’ll do our bit, and see you back here next Sunday. Deal?
