During his match against Marty Scurll at New Japan’s Sakura Genesis 2018 event, Will Ospreay attempted to hit a Spanish Fly from the apron to the floor. In theory, this should send both men to the ground for flat landings. In reality, at least on Sun. April 1, it didn’t work that way...
Ohhhhhhhhh... WOW. #njSG

Ospreay was busted open when hitting the apron, and sold a quite-probably-actual neck injury as Scurll targeted the area for the remainder of their match. Which means he pretty amazingly finished the match (and called someone out to set-up his next feud). And he says that means he’s okay, but maybe not okay enough to make his scheduled trip to New Orleans for WrestleMania week...
Hey guys I’m ok. But I might not be fit to compete for NOLA. I’ll update you once I know more.

P.S I could really do without the whole “I told you so” or “This is why” pic.twitter.com/kAPqmJCFFR
In the least shocking update of all-time, PWInsider is saying their sources tell them Ospreay is concerned about “a neck issue”.
If the Aerial Assassin does have to pull out of his bookings this week, that will leave a hole in several companies plans, as he was set to face AR Fox at Evolve 102, Matt Riddle at the WWN Supershow, and Dezmond Xavier at CZW’s WrestleCon show, as well as two matches for Progress and a six-man for RevPro.
We’ll keep you posted and hope for the best.
