After a bit of a rocky start at Royal Rumble, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by WWE’s rollout of Ronda Rousey. They both pleased and surprised me on Raw last night (Mar. 5) during the segment when Rousey’s WrestleMania match with Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H was made official.
Pleased because it continued to come off well with Ronda as a crowd-pleasing bad ass (thanks in large part to the heels doing their jobs) and surprised because they actually let Rowdy get her hands on Steph with more than a month to go before ‘Mania.
It was in that latter part where some signs of trouble popped up. But don’t take my word for it (especially since I didn’t even really notice it until my main man Geno Mrosko pointed it out in the Cageside offices).
Here’s wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer:
Dear @RondaRousey Good job

Ask @TheRock @NiaJaxWWE @TaminaSnuka @WWERomanReigns @WWEUsos for Samoan drop help. You are trapping your own arm, causing opponent to land on ur arm & shoulder
will mess you up#CONCERNEDCitizen#RAW
Dreamer isn’t just a veteran with almost three decades worth of experience in the ring. He’s also a promoter and trainer. His word should be good, and since 5 of the 6 referrals he makes are currently on the WWE roster, and the sixth is one of her Furious 7 co-stars, she should be able to find out if Tommy’s advice is on point pretty easily.
Do it, Rowdy. Don’t ruin a promising run on a poorly executed drop!
