EC3 makes an impact in his NXT debut

Just six days ago, we brought you EC3’s final segment in Impact.

And now we bring you his NXT debut!

After being kept off TV for just long enough to finish out his Impact run, the One Percenter debuted tonight (Mar. 28) on NXT TV.

William Regal opened the show introducing a new title for the promotion known as the North American championship. That’s when EC3’s new music hit. (For my money few tunes are going to be as good as his “Trouble” music in Impact, but his new CFO$ tune was pretty dope.)

EC3 assumed that Regal was just going to hand him the title. Of course, that’s not the NXT GM’s style and Carter will have to earn it as one of many in a ladder match at TakeOver: New Orleans.

The artist formerly known as Carter’s first NXT promo wasn’t too different than some of his Impact ones, but certainly new for the crowd that hasn’t seen him before. He played off the crowd a bit, something he mastered in Impact, and had his usual excessive attitude (such as his slight exaggeration when calling NXT the hottest promotion as if mocking everyone else who says that on debut). It could be considered standard fare for EC3, but a standard EC3 promo is still very good.

Give it a watch and let us know what you think of EC3’s first NXT promo. And if you’re just seeing him for the first time, let us know your first impression.
