Hello Nightly!!!

And for tonight’s edition of Nightly Road To Wrestlemania, Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood!!!

It’s Wrestlemania 21! Light! Camera! Action! Wrestlemania 21 emanated from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, and the commentators were Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler for Raw, and Michael Cole and Tazz for SmackDown.

Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero:

Match Thoughts: Solid match. Probably one of their weaker matches together, and they would have better matches after this, but overall, solid opener.

Chris Benoit vs. Kane vs. Edge vs. Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jericho in a Money In The Bank Ladder match.

Match Thoughts: Good match, was a good way to start the MITB series of matches.

Eugene comes out and says this is the greatest moment of his life. Muhammad Hassan comes out and attacks Eugene and Hulk Hogan makes the save.

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker:

Match Thoughts: Great match, there were times where it seemed like Orton would break Taker’s streak.

Christy Hemme vs. Trish Stratus:

Match Thoughts: Okay match. Not awful or anything, but pretty forgettable.

Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle:

Match Thoughts: Fantastic match. Best match on the card by far.

Piper’s Pit with Stone Cold Steve Austin:

Segment Analysis:

Piper disagrees with Stone Cold being a rebel. The two slap each other when Stone Cold arrives. Piper says that he was pissing Vince McMahon off when the red on Stone Cold’s neck was diaper rash. Carlito interrupts the two and gets beat up by both Piper and Stone Cold. Stone Cold stuns Piper during a beer bash.

Akebono vs. Big Show in a Sumo match:

Match Analysis: The two struggle to knock each other down, they tie a break and though a couple of close calls, Akebono winds up knocking Big Show to the floor for the win.

JBL vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship:

Match Thoughts: Boring match. JBL wasn’t entertaining at all during his reign as champion, and this was really the beginning of Cena overcoming the odds in a match.

Batista vs. Triple H for the Raw World Heavyweight Championship:

Match Analysis:

Match Thoughts: A bit better than Cena/JBL, But a bit dull at times.

Final Thoughts: While this was an important Wrestlemania, this wasn’t necessarily a good Mania. A lot of the matches fell flat, but there were also some good matches like HBK/Angle and Orton/Taker.

On to the Nightly.
