Since this seems to be a topic of discussion today, here’s UFC president Dana White on the odds of WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar returning to the Octagon:

Lesnar is currently suspended by the USADA for testing positive for the banned substance clomiphene around his last mixed martial arts fight, a UFC 200 bout with Mark Hunt the judges ruled a victory for Brock but the record books show as a no contest due to the failed tests. The former UFC heavyweight champ retired from the sport in early 2017 and left the anti-doping agency’s testing pool, and would have to unretire and resume being tested for the remaining five - six months on his one-year suspension before being cleared to fight. According to the rule book, anyway.
At WWE, where he’s currently under contract until late spring/early summer of this year, the Beast Incarnate “no-showed” the Feb. 26 episode of Raw a day after White tweeted a picture of the pair in Las Vegas. Current reporting indicates the “no show” is a storyline designed to keep fans angry at the seldom-seen Lesnar, playing on the belief he may leave WWE for UFC after his WrestleMania 34 match with Roman Reigns.
Using his contract status and future as part of a worked angle doesn’t mean Brock isn’t planning on leaving and returning to MMA, and Dana’s tweets and comments this week are making it look like a UFC return is in the cards. Hell, he could even be coordinating his messaging with Vince McMahon’s team to promote ‘Mania and Lesnar’s next trip to the Octagon at the same time.
Cross-promotional worked shoots? 2018, y’all.
