Los Ingobernables de Japon win World Tag League 2018, the Young Bucks immediately call their shot

NJPW World

One of the last keystones for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 is almost in place now that World Tag League Finals (for full results, check here) is in the books.

It was a match that saw the Guerrillas of Destiny dominate most of proceedings through fair means and foul, starting with the traditional pre-match attack and including multiple kendo stick shots from Jado, who was ringside as their second. Slowly but surely, Los Ingobernables de Japon pulled their way out of the mire as the match increased its intensity and both teams stood desperate to hit their own Magic Killer, but in the end it was Darkness Falls chained into a diving moonsault from SANADA that would win LIJ the trophies.

LIJ would then cut a promo about winning two years in a row and then the Young Bucks made their presence known. Matt Jackson got on the mic and pointed out that they never got their rematch for the IWGP Tag Team Championship and, being the best tag team in the world, surely that means they should get the Wrestle Kingdom 13 title shot.

EVIL suggested a three-way, which seems like a reasonable conclusion to draw out of all this, even if it feels a bit off to have both tag titles defended in triple threats on the same show.

There you have it, folks

Los Ingobernables de Japon have won World Tag League 2018 and your IWGP Tag Team Championship match for Wrestle Kingdom 13 isn’t set, but the path seems clear that we’re headed to a three-way. Excited, Cagesiders?
