Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Vince McMahon was “furious” about the reaction to the Seth Rollins/Dean Ambrose match at TLC, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
- That’s led to speculation WWE will decide to focus even more on the women’s division, and that Rollins’ previously rumored spot as Brock Lesnar’s challenger for WrestleMania 35 could be up for re-evaluation.
- Asuka winning the SmackDown Women’s title and the booking of the TLC main event finish with Ronda Rousey were all decided on weeks ago.
- The Observer says the segment on the latest Being The Elite where The Young Bucks turn down an offer to go to WWE is “a play based on what actually happened”.
- SCU’s ROH contracts are all up at the end of 2018, per PW Insider. It’s thought that Christopher Daniels will work their January television tapings, though.
