New Japan Pro Wrestling Power Struggle 2018 results: Jericho vs. EVIL, Naito vs. Sabre, and more

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) are back again and do you hear that whistle in this distance? It’s Power Struggle, the last major stop on the road to Wrestle Kingdom 13! After this, it’s just World Tag League and we’re home free, folks. Like all of New Japan’s other major events, this show will be broadcast worldwide on New Japan's streaming service, NJPW World.

Today’s action takes place in Osaka’s Edion Arena Osaka, kicking off at a ripe 4AM Eastern / 1AM Pacific, and features Chris Jericho making his first defense of the IWGP Intercontinental Championship against EVIL!

Plus Tetsuya Naito and Zack Sabre, Jr. meet in a grudge match, Tomohiro Ishii defends the RPW British Heavyweight Championship against Minoru Suzuki, and we have the three-way finals to Super Jr. Tag League!

ACH, Chris Sabin, Ryusuke Taguchi, & Toa Henare over Jushin Liger, Soberano, Jr., Tiger Mask IV, & Volador, Jr. by pinfall with a Dodon / X-Factor combination from ACH and Taguchi on Soberano.

Bullet Club (Robbie Eagles, Tama Tonga, & Tanga Loa) over Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma) & KUSHIDA by pinfall with a Gun Stun from Tonga on KUSHIDA after Taiji Ishimori cracked his crutch across the Time Splitter’s back.

Chaos (Beretta & Kazuchika Okada) over Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale & “Switchblade” Jay White) by pinfall with a folding press from Beretta on Fale.

Post-match, Okada and White brawl at length, and Switchblade challenges the Rainmaker to a one-on-one match “any time”. Okada wants to fight now, but of course White demures.

Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH) over Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI & Shingo Takagi) and Suzuki-gun (El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) by pinfall with Shock Arrow from SHO on Desperado. (Super Jr. Tag League 2018 Finals)

Hirooki Goto over Taichi (c) by pinfall with GTR to win the NEVER Openweight Championship.

Tomohiro Ishii (c) over Minoru Suzuki by pinfall with the vertical drop brainbuster to retain the RPW British Heavyweight Championship.

Tetsuya Naito over Zack Sabre, Jr. by pinfall with Destino.

Chris Jericho (c) over EVIL by submission with the Walls of Jericho to retain the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

Post-match, Jericho locks the hold back on but Naito makes the save! Y2J bails and runs up the ramp clutching his IWGP Intercontinental Championship over one shoulder. He asks Tetsuya if he wants it but brushes it off and heads up the ramp.

Naito gets on the mic and officially challenges Jericho for the title!
