Rumor Roundup (Oct. 6, 2018): The Rock return, Rey Mysterio, Hulk Hogan, Pete Dunne injury, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • WWE is trying to get The Rock for SmackDown 1000, per the Observer.
  • They also say Rey Mysterio’s first match back with WWE will likely be on SmackDown but that may not necessarily be the brand he sticks with going forward.
  • WWE promoting the nWo reunion later this month has led to more speculation Hulk Hogan will be back on television for the company sooner rather than later.
  • According to the Observer, Pete Dunne is currently dealing with a foot injury that isn’t expected to keep him out of action.
  • The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes there is talk of an ALL IN 2 and even ALL IN 3 and Memorial & Labor Day are both being talked about with locations possible in Chicago and Southern California.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct!
