Rumor Roundup (Oct. 4, 2018): HBK return plans, Survivor Series matches, New Day, more!

WWE.com

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Shawn Michaels return might not feature dream matches with Daniel Bryan or AJ Styles, says PW Insider Elite (via Ringside News). The speculation is it’s more Michaels “trying to fulfill his obligations” to WWE, and HBK views his current storyline as “the only time that we can probably do this and get it done right”.
  • While a brand vs. brand match might happen, Survivor Series will not focus on the Raw vs. SmackDown theme this year, per WrestleVotes.
  • The same source says there is a good chance of a Team Baron Corbin vs. Team Kurt Angle Survivor Series match, with the winning captain getting control of Raw.
  • WWE considered selling New Day pancake batter or syrup, but ultimately decided against it, according to Wrestling Observer Live.
  • Speaking of New Day and pancakes, Wrestling Inc says Mr. Bootyworth from this week’s SmackDown was played by none other than Dewey Foley.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
