It wasn’t pretty, but should an Extreme Rules match in Philly be pretty?
Tonight (Jan. 27) at TakeOver: Philadelphia, Adam Cole and Aleister Black looked to settle their increasingly personal issues at Wells Fargo Center. I don’t know if they accomplished that goal, but they did get Extreme.
Cole seemed to get the worst of it. A cut on his hand had him bleeding early, and then he took several insane spots that I’m honestly not sure how he walked away from. Black didn’t get off light, but... let’s just go to the GIFs:

As you can see, SAnitY ran in after tag champs Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish (who retained their titles in a pretty brutal match against Authors of Pain in the opener) came to their Undisputed ERA leader’s aid.
But in the end, that announce table spot, and a replay of the finish of their match on NXT television last month where Cole taunted his way right into eating a Black Mass, was enough for The Stoic Satanist to pull out a victory.
It was an INSANE match, and both men deserve a ton of credit for putting their bodies at severe risk for our entertainment.
