Rumor Roundup (Jan. 23, 2018): Taker/Cena, Elias push, WWE TV, KO and Jordan injuries, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • According to Dave Meltzer, the set-up for John Cena and Undertaker at WrestleMania is still scheduled to happen in “the next few weeks”.
  • As set up at Raw 25, Elias will feud with Cena after Royal Rumble. He’s taking the role planned for Samoa Joe before his foot injury.
  • Cena is said to be in the running for the lead in a Duke Nukem movie.
  • Variety published an article looking at rumors of Fox bidding for WWE’s television rights or possibly buying the company outright. It also mentions Facebook and Amazon as possible future TV homes for Raw and SmackDown.
  • Despite lingering injuries that have been keeping them off house shows, both Kevin Owens and Jason Jordan are expected to wrestle as planned at Royal Rumble.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
