Pic: Tournament bracket revealed for MLW ‘Road to the World Championship’ on Feb. 8

Major League Wrestling (MLW) hijacked the GILT Nightclub last Thursday (Jan. 11, 2018) with another star-studded pro wrestling show and I don’t want to spoil any of the results, but let’s just say we didn't get through the night without someone getting a Washington stapled to their dome.

And for once it wasn’t me (thanks to that restraining order).

Anyway, after shutting down the better part of Orlando with “Zero Hour,” MLW will return to GILT with “Road to the World Championship” on Thurs., Feb. 8, 2018, featuring the opening round of the promotion’s eight-man heavyweight tournament.

Who’s got the intestinal fortitude for such an event? I’m glad you asked.

The opening brackets, for the image impaired:

MVP vs. Tom Lawlor
Matt Riddle vs. Jeff Cobb
Shane Strickland vs. Brody King
Jimmy Havoc vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman

Also expected to appear on Feb. 8 is Low Ki (presented by Stokely Hathaway) along with Darby Allin, Seth Petruzelli, Sammy Guevara (managed by Salina de la Renta), Jimmy Yuta, Jason Cade, and Barrington Hughes, among others.

Tickets can be scooped up at https://www.MLWTickets.com, priced from $15-$45 with a limited number of “Golden Ticket” VIP Packages also available.

The tournament continues with the semifinals on March 8, with the heavyweight world champion earning his crown on April 12. But let’s not put the cart before the proverbial horse, which is a nicer way of saying “get your ass over to GILT next month in Orlando to see what all the buzz is about.”

Here’s a taste:

Matches like this are how the “HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!” chant got started.

The Feb. 8 event, featuring Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini behind the table, is scheduled for release via video on demand (VOD) on Feb. 15.
