The epic saga of gods versus mortals in an underground fight club known as Lucha Underground continues tonight (Sep. 20) on El Rey Network at 8pm ET/PT.

Even though only two fights have been advertised so far, there will probably be three total. As is the usual. I expect the rest of the time to be devoted to scheduling official Ultima Lucha Tres matches in Dario Cueto's office. Here’s a break down of what we know so far for tonight’s episode.

Fenix & Melissa Santos vs Marty Martinez & Mariposa

Last week, Melissa Santos unleashed her fury after becoming tired of Marty's antics. The consequences of her actions have put her in the feature bout of the evening. I'm not sure what to expect, but I don't think it will be a stinker. I have faith that Lucha Underground will do their best to make the match entertaining.

One thing I'm keeping my eye on is Mariposa vs Melissa. If Mariposa gets too physical, will Marty intervene? Or maybe he’ll get off on Melissa’s pain.

Dante Fox vs Texano

I assume that will be a match. Based on the wording in the tweet, it will be interesting to see if any stakes are up for grabs.

Two things I’m curious about. How will Dante Fox’s high-octane style match up with a bruiser like Texano? Can he still be as exciting? Second, what’s up with Famous B and Texano? Last we saw them, Pentagon DARK broke the arms of B and Brenda. How much of B’s recuperation time was spent trying to woo Texano?

Gift of the Gods

All I have is that tweet. I'm guessing either bedlam after the Aztec medallion ceremony or a trios bout against the Rabbit Tribe.

Ultima Lucha Tres

The four week Ultima Lucha Tres event begins next week. I believe there are only two official matches scheduled to date.

  • Lucha Underground championship vs Career: Johnny Mundo vs Prince Puma
  • Mask vs Hair: Fenix vs Marty Martinez

I expect there to be twelve matches and maybe fifteen if the season finale is two hours. That means Dario Cueto has a lot of booking to do during this episode. Matches that seem likely are:

  • Gift of the Gods: Pentagon DARK vs Cortez Castro vs Son of Havoc vs Paul London vs Saltador vs Mala Suerte vs Drago
  • Mil Muertes vs Cage vs Jeremiah Crane
  • Taya vs Sexy Star
  • Killshot vs Dante Fox
  • Trios championship bout
  • Tournament of some sort, possibly involving the trios belts

There's also the possibility of Ivelisse vs Catrina. Ivelisse threw down the challenge in the season three opener. I'm not certain about the real life timing of Ivelisse's injury, but I believe they would have known her status before the season premiere aired. That leads me to conclude they kept that segment in for a reason, instead of editing it out.

Personally, I'm hoping for Cage vs Mack III. I don't care if Cage will have another match. Four weeks is long enough for him to compete twice. The tradition of Cage vs Mack must continue.

What are you hoping to see on this episode? What do you think has happened to Rey Mysterio during the past week after Matanza took him away? If you had the book, what would be your card for Ultima Lucha Tres?

I’ll leave you with a braggadocious promo from Pendejo DARK talking about his plans to win Gift of the Gods. Enjoy all the action Wednesday night at 8pm ET/PT on El Rey Network.
