Rumor Roundup (Aug. 24, 2017): Cena/Reigns, beach balls, Roode, Taker, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • John Cena was moved to Raw not for ratings, but for fresh match-ups, according to Sports Illustrated... and specifically to put over Roman Reigns.
  • Beach balls and “other inflatable items” were banned from Barclays Center on Tuesday night, and PWInsider believes the ban will be in effect for all WWE events going forward.
  • There’s been talk of presenting Bobby Roode as a face on SmackDown, at least for his first feud.
  • Jerry Lawler noted on his podcast that he didn’t see Undertaker at the venue for SummerSlam, and thinks he was in New York to get scanned for a new, non-2K WWE video game.
  • Not clear if it’s over money or creative, but Low Ki already left Global Force. PWInsider says the company told them it was “amicable”.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
