Jim Cornette probably thinks your favorite wrestling performance is killing the business

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view (PPV), the July 24 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown & 205 Live, NXT, Lucha Underground from Wednesday, Thursday's Impact Wrestling, ROH TV #305, New Japan’s G1 Climax shows and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from July 23 - 29, 2017.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

Get you a man who can do both...

So, your friendly neighborhood counter and compiler is actually enjoying a few days off, so I’m skipping the “here’s what happened two weeks ago that made you vote the way you did” bullet points I’m not sure anyone reads anyway in favor of just saying... wow.

The last Standings vote provides a great example of both what wrestling and the Cageside community represents in 2017. It’s always been true there’s something for everyone in this artform/athletic exhibition, but now you don’t even have to search that hard.

Gods and monsters brawling on national television. A tournament full of compelling characters working styles ranging from high-flying to submission-based. Women getting the opportunity to display their talents in a one-off, non-title match. Kayfabe genealogy being used to elevate a decorated amateur wrestler. Guys you never thought would make it to sports entertainment’s biggest stage getting a chance to reach new audiences on WWE Network.

Wrestling is awesome, and you help shine a light on all of it.
