The second half of the third season of El Rey Network’s grindhouse pro wrestling mash-up Lucha Undergound rolls on tonight (July 19).

Catch-up on last week’s show with our recap & review here, and get a rundown of our favorite things about the episode in the Tope Ten here.

We’re into the second round, so last week Manolo broke down what’s happened so far and what might happen next in The Cueto Cup, with some help from Cageside’s official Boyle Heights correspondent Kyle Decker, and yours truly. Check that out here.

Here’s what the network tells us is coming this week:

  • The Cueto Cup continues
  • Vampiro gives counsel to Prince Puma on his match
  • Johnny Mundo introduces his agent to the Worldwide Underground

As it pertains to that first bullet point, we’ve got three bouts announced from two groups. Down in D, Vamp is getting Puma ready for a battle of high-fliers, as the former champ duels with the Darewolf, PJ Black. The winner of that match will face whoever emerges from Son of Havoc vs. Dante Fox, also happening this episode.

Up in C, it’s a god vs. a snake as Cage faces Pindar for a spot in the quarterfinals against Fenix. If he’s recovered from his beating at the hands of the moths. Luckily, he has Melissa Santos’ admiration, and an ally who can time travel.

The battle for the Cup continues at 8PM Eastern tonight, True Believers!

El Rey is available via the cable and satellite providers list on their webpage here. If one of those is your hook-up and you can't find the channel on your box, reach out to them and ask for it. If you don't see your provider listed or you've cut the cord, you can find El Rey on the streaming subscription services Sling (here) and fubo.tv (here). Or you can order the episodes on iTunes here. Seasons one and two are available on Netflix here.

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcast, but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
