Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- There were reportedly mixed reactions to the Mae Young Classic among WWE officials, with some concerned all the competitors weren’t up to the company’s standards for attractiveness.
- Battleground is far from sold out for Sunday, July 23 in Philadelphia, and WWE is reportedly offering discounts on tickets - up to and beyond 50% off face value.
- Being moved back an hour for 205 Live didn’t effect Talking Smack’s viewership, according to Observer Radio, as most people watch the show as Video On Demand (not live) anyway.
- After her Reina de Reinas championship was vacated by the company and Sexy Star booked to win it this past weekend, Taya Valkyrie quit AAA on Twitter, claiming the promotion stabbed her in the back. The Observer reports putting the title on Sexy was part of a deal to get her to return to AAA.
