From Canada to Japan to the USA, America’s new faces rule our Standings

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - EVOLVE 89, the July 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown & 205 Live, NXT, Lucha Underground & ROH TV from Wednesday, Thursday's Impact Wrestling, and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from July 9 - 15, 2017.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

It’s (one of) the New Faces of America, celebrating his win by making faces!

  • The finale of New Japan’s G1 Special was indeed special, with both the men who competed for the IWGP U.S. title finishing atop our Standings.
  • Even before he won the WWE’s red, white and blue belt at Madison Square Garden, a former Bullet Club leader was wow-ing you by earning a shot at that belt. He even helped an Olympian from Minnesota (and briefly Ohio) with whom he’d formed a mutual admiration society back into the S3 for the first time in a long while.
  • Tapping out champions and stalking them down during interview segments on ‘go home’ shows is a good way for Raw’s challengers to impress.
  • Another way is to start the week battling a Stone Pitbull, then end it defending your title against the longest reigning champ in the promotion’s history.
  • You also liked the Smacktaker Skywalker’s fire, and the SmackDown tag champs’ bars.

We’ll take it from there.
