New Japan reveals schedule of key matches for G1 Climax 27, including Omega/Okada, Tanahashi/Naito and Sabre/Ibushi

One day after revealing the block assignments for G1 Climax 27, the 2017 version of New Japan’s signature Summer event, the company today let us know when many of the key matches will be taking place - including the most anticipated showdowns of the round robin tourney.

In revealing when we’ll be getting showdowns between IWGP Heavyweight champion Hiroshi Tanahashi and Los Ingobernables de Japon head Tetsuya Naito and the third match of the year between IWGP Heavyweight champ Kazuchika Okada and Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega (Aug. 11 and 12 at Tokyo’s Ryōgoku Sumo Hall, the last days of action in their respective blocks), the announcements shed some light on who will be competing for a spot in the final and a main event booking at New Japan’s Tokyo Dome show next January 4.
