Samoa Joe makes like Godzilla over Japan and the rest of the competition, wins another S3

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV), the June 19 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown & 205 Live, NXT, Lucha Underground & ROH TV from Wednesday, Thursday's Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor’s Best in the World PPV, EVOLVE 86 and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from June 18 - 24, 2017.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

I don’t know if this GIF is the reason so many people voted for Joe again...

TDE Wrestling

... but if it is, I support that rationale.

  • Raw’s show-opening brawl took two spots in the top ten for the week of June 11 - 17, or as many as Dominion 6.11’s 6.25 star main event.
  • That show also place the new IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champ (the old one just missed the cut), while Team Red added a Boss who blasted the champ and won a six-person tag.
  • You were more impressed with the ladies of Wednesday night, as the Women’s champ and her unhinged rival fought until William Regal had to book his own historic match for this week.
  • Off week for SmackDown, but you can’t stop Breezango... you can only hope to contain them.

The S3: 2017 - 18, Week 11

1. Samoa Joe
2. Nikki Cross
3. Asuka
4. Kenny Omega
5. Fandango
6. Sasha Banks
7. Kazuchika Okada
8. (tie) Brock Lesnar
8. (tie) Tyler Breeze
10. KUSHIDA

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

Where someone from the third brand who’s never held the title is our highest ranking woman, and there’s now a tie of old NXT championship rivals in eighth.

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending June 17

1. Fandango - 58
2. Tyler Breeze - 50.5
3. Roman Reigns - 37
4. Braun Strowman - 33
5. Jinder Mahal - 29
6. Nikki Cross - 24
7. Alexa Bliss - 21
8. (tie) Shinsuke Nakamura - 20
8. (tie) Samoa Joe - 20
10. The Miz - 18.5

Lots to consider - and a really long poll thanks to two PPVs. Dig into our coverage of the week, including our sections and storystreams for Money in the Bank, Raw, Smackdown, 205 Live, NXT, Ring of Honor, Lucha Underground, Impact and the wide world of “everything else”. Once you’ve got it sorted, give us your picks.

We’ll take care of the rest. See you next Sunday!
