Rumor Roundup (June 22, 2017): Miz/Maryse split, Big Cass plans, debuts and returns, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Following up on the rumor earlier this week that WWE is splitting Maryse off from Miz, Dave Meltzer discussed this on Wrestling Observer Radio and speculated it’s being done because they don’t want to duplicate a couples gimmick now that Mike & Maria Kanellis have debuted on SmackDown.
  • Immediate plans for Big Cass call for a one match feud with Enzo Amore for Great Balls of Fire and a showdown with Big Show at SummerSlam.
  • Kairi Hojo recently left Japan to start with WWE, and she may show up at this Friday’s NXT taping, along with some other big names rumored for the Mae Young Classic.
  • Darren Young and Tommaso Ciampa are both rehabbing their injuries and training to return to the ring in Birmingham, Alabama, according to PWInsider.
  • Jack Swagger has been training for mixed martial arts and is considering doing pro wrestling and MMA like Bobby Lashley.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
