The second half of the third season of El Rey Network’s grindhouse pro wrestling mash-up Lucha Undergound rolls on tonight (June 21).

Catch-up on last week’s show with our recap & review here, and get a rundown of our favorite things about the episode in the Tope Ten here. And, BONUS, Manolo & I broke down the Cueto Cup with a mix of scholarly research, fantasy booking and educated guesses here.

Sure, we were a little late with our Cup breakdown, since Dario’s latest scheme kicked off with round one action last week. But it’s a big field, and looks to be the focus of a lot of their storytelling right now.

Here’s what the network tells us is coming this week:

  • The Cueto Cup continues its first round
  • Marty the Moth continues his caddish ways, as his obsession with Melissa Santos resumes
  • Rey Mysterio and Johnny Mundo ready themselves for their battle

Based on their social media and the teaser clip above, it looks like we’re getting Block B action tonight, so Marty vs. The Rabbit Tribe’s Saltador, Mariposa against Fenix, Pindar vs. Mascarita Sagrada and poor, poor Vinnie Massaro being served up to the murderous god Cage.

The Mundo vs. Mysterio prep seems to be a running theme, as well. Thank goodness pants are optional.

The battle for the Cup continues at 8PM Eastern tonight, True Believers!

El Rey is available via the cable and satellite providers list on their webpage here. If one of those is your hook-up and you can't find the channel on your box, reach out to them and ask for it. If you don't see your provider listed or you've cut the cord, you can find El Rey on the streaming subscription services Sling (here) and (here). Or you can order the episodes on iTunes here. Seasons one and two are available on Netflix here.

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcast, but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
