Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.
Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.
We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.
Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE’s Payback pay-per-view (PPV), the May 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown & 205 Live, NXT & ROH TV from Wednesday, Thursday's Impact Wrestling and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from April 30 - May 6, 2017.
Make YOUR mark, smarks!
Somebody’s excited about the blue brand’s #1 contender...
... and I don’t just mean his old bandmates.
- The Maharajah wasn’t the only person in Shane & Daniel’s title scene you were impressed by either, as the Fashion Police made a run for the top in last week’s vote, while the Women’s champ grabbed the last spot in the top ten.
- Meanwhile, the NXT resurgence was in full effect, as the women involved in a couple of brawl spots on the episode under consideration finished in the top five, while the guy getting the emotional spotlight backstory was only a few spots behind.
- From Monday nights, the Monster Among Men is still here, this time joined by the luchador who beat him and paid the price.
- Boss fans really liked her countout win over Alexa Bliss (or the “troll doll wannabe” line).
- We don’t really do the “honorable mention” thing, but last week’s vote was so scattered some folks who got a lot of support just missed the cut. Shout out to Gentleman Jack, and Chip Day & Trevor Lee.
