If you’re like me, you’re a fan of the outlandish characters who battle within the dense narrative of Lucha Underground’s fantasy world, but the months long break the El Rey Network series just took has left you with a fuzzy recollection of where things LU’s various plot threads last dangled. There’s a lot of wrestling out there - not to mention the hours of other pop culture & sports programming. It’s hard to keep track of it all, even when it doesn’t go away from mid-January to late May.
What are we to do to get ready for the mid-season premiere tonight (May 31)?
Well, I can’t tell you how to catch-up, but here’s how I tried...
Our own Manolo (who has pizzazz) ran down his favorite things from the first nineteen episodes of season three, and gave us an opportunity to vote for ours, in each of the following categories:
Most Outrageous Moment
Best Moment
Best Feud
Most Valuable Performer
Best Match
One of the best sources for lucha libre knowledge, The Cubs Fan’s Lucha Blog, tried to answer all your LU questions in two posts:
Where did we leave that power glove? A Lucha Underground season 3 catch up
- and -
Trying to answer the big LU questions: the hiatus, Netflix, Pentagon/Fenix & S4
Then there’s the show’s own social media crew, who while not quite as active as they were in earlier seasons, are still cranking out useful content like a chart tracking the shows various connections and relationships:

And this one chronicling the twisted history of their Trios title:

Still not enough? Not sure I can help you then, luchador.
Just dive in! There’s a teaser clip for tonight’s new show above, which is described as follows:
All Night Long…Again – The Mack faces champion Johnny Mundo in an All Night Long Match. The luchador with the most pinfall and submission victories the end of the night is the Lucha Underground Champion.
It happens at 8PM Eastern tonight, True Believers!
