Seems we’re in a kind of golden age for mainstream wrestling projects. There’s the upcoming movie about UK wrestling clan the Knights and their WWE Divas champion daughter Paige, Fighting With My Family, and the just-announced Vince McMahon biopic, Pandemonium.
On the slightly more fictionalized side, there’s Netflix’s upcoming GLOW, based on the short-lived 1980s women’s federation. I’ve been pretty excited for this since the initial announcement - and definitely when Community and Mad Men’s Alison Brie was announced as the lead - and as we get closer to the June 23 release of the show, the hype levels are rising to the point I’m concerned I’ll be disappointed if it’s only really good instead of the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.
