Our weekly fan vote for best pro wrestling performance just got GLORIOUS

Logo-S3

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV), Jan. 30 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown Live & 205 Live, Wednesday's NXT & ROH TV, Thursday's TNA Impact, and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, 2017.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

Sure, there are plenty of GLORIOUS GIFs to choose from (mostly #BOMBS), but this one gets me every time...

  • Voters give us a preview of the NXT title scene at the top of last week's Standings by honoring TakeOver: San Antonio's main eventers and the Evolve farewell of the man-who-will-be-Kassius Ohno.

  • Not that he didn't look great losing to Roderick Strong, but the former La Sombra is this week's reminder of the power of throwing all your comment vote points behind one performer (from which the wounded-yet-fiery Boss and the fiery-yet-beatdown Lasskicker also benefited).

  • Raw reminded us that you can put two good wrestlers in a match AND give them a fresh story to go along with it.

  • Lots of folks were jockeying for the final spots after a packed week of graps. In the end, successful title defenses from SmackDown's Intercontinental champ and Impact's Knockouts titleholder took those points.

The S3: 2016-17, Week 43

1. Bobby Roode
2. Chris Hero
3. Shinsuke Nakamura
4. Andrade "Cien" Almas
5. Sasha Banks
6. Seth Rollins
7. Sami Zayn
8. Becky Lynch
9. Dean Ambrose
10. Rosemary

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

New Day’s since-fallen Captain jumps up a couple of spaces, while the Smark fave half of the horsewomen continue to close on the idling Prizefighter.

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending Jan. 28

1. AJ Styles - 257
2. Dean Ambrose - 159
3. The Miz - 106
4. Kevin Owens - 105
5. Sasha Banks - 95.5
6. Becky Lynch - 92
7. Seth Rollins - 73
8. Chris Jericho - 72.5
9. Cesaro - 68.5
10. Matt Hardy - 64.5

________________________________________________________________

The past seven days aren't quite as packed as the previous week, but a certain show from last Sunday does throw a lot of names into consideration. Sort out your your thoughts and feelings on Royal Rumble, Raw, Smackdown, 205 Live, NXT, Impact, and whatever else you managed to stream over the last seven days.

Then let us know how that worked out for you, and we'll sort it out with everyone elses and see you back her next week.
