Report: Kevin Kelly done with Ring of Honor

The Ring of Honor revolving door keeps turning.

The latest to make his exit is longtime ring announcer Kevin Kelly.

PWInsider reported Thursday that Kelly handed in his notice yesterday and has already departed. He was not scheduled for any ROH events this weekend, but he is still expected to fulfill his announcing duties at The New Beginning this Sunday in Sapporo for New Japan Pro Wrestling (he does English commentary for their streaming service).

Kelly, who had broken into the business for IWF in Florida, is most well-known as an announcer for WWE, where he worked from 1993 to 2003. He did Lucha Libre USA for two seasons before he was brought in by Jim Cornette in 2010.

Kelly is the third announcer in as many months to leave Ring of Honor, following Steve Corino, whose contract expired New Year’s Eve, and Nigel McGuinness, who recently did announcing for WWE’s UK tournament and began color commentary duties for NXT at last night’s tapings.

Ian Riccaboni, who does the announcing for ROH’s Women of Honor bouts, is a possible replacement for Kelly, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Gonna miss Kevin Kelly in ROH?
