Rumor Roundup (Feb. 13, 2017): SmackDown Mania plans, Heyman/Goldberg, Paige movie casting, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • The backstage bump Maryse took during the Nikki Bella/Natalya interview at Elimination Chamber and John Cena’s pin of The Miz in the main event will indeed be the set-up for WrestleMania 33’s mixed tag.
  • It’s possible the SmackDown Women’s title won’t be defended at Mania, but Naomi will likely still carry it into Orlando for a tag match with Becky Lynch against Alexa Bliss & Mickie James.
  • Paul Heyman is personally involved in producing Goldberg’s segments on Raw, per Wrestling Observer.
  • Tessa Blanchard and Thea Trinidad (TNA’s “Rosita”) are in Los Angeles working on The Rock-produced Fighting With My Family movie based on Paige, her parents and brother, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.
  • Tamina is medically cleared to return after rehabbing her surgically repaired knee and will be on SmackDown house shows in March, but there are no definite plans to return her to television before WrestleMania.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
