Chris Jericho attacked Kenny Omega and left him bloody at New Japan’s World Tag League Finals

He wasn’t scheduled to show up in New Japan before Wrestle Kingdom 12 at the Tokyo Dome on Jan. 4, but schedules and geography have never stopped Chris Jericho from doing whatever he can to surprise fans and build an angle.

And at the World Tag League Finals show today (Dec. 11) in Fukuoka, “The Alpha” did just that. His WK12 opponent Kenny Omega had just helped his Bullet Club Elite teammates defeat a Chaos trio of Roppongi 3K and Rocky Romero when a Jericho video appeared on the big screen. The Fozzy frontman offered a mocking clap for Omega and vowed to defeat him next month.

After it finished playing, the lights went out and...

That was followed by an assault with The IWGP United States title which left Kenny a bloody mess, and then another Codebreaker. A referee and a “young boy” also fall before The Ayatollah. When New Japan English language announcer (and Jericho pal who helped put together his New Japan deal, and new Impact Wrestling executive) Don Callis checked on Omega, Y2J laid him out, as well. Callis did a stretcher job to finish the segment.

Will this be their last interaction before the Dome Show? Who knows! The more important question is...

Are you more excited for Alpha vs. Omega on Jan. 4?
