New Days (c) vs. the Usos

Hell in a Cell match for the tag team championships

The New Day and the Usos are admist an epic tag team feud. Yes, we’ve seen this feud before, when the New Day were the bad guys and the Usos were the face painted good guys, and it was OK. But now the roles have been reversed and this has been magic.

They’ve delivered great promos. They had a really fun rap battle. And the matches... man the matches are just awesome. Let’s take a look back:

They first faced each other at Money in the Bank. It was a great match, but the ending was a let down when the Usos decided to take a count out loss instead of lose their titles.

- According to the Cageside match of the night poll, even with a lame count out finish, they were still the second favorite match on the show.

At Battleground, the New Day received their rematch. Xavier Woods was heavily featured and looked like a star. The matched ended with the X Man getting his first pin to claim a title.

- On the Cageside poll, this was clearly match of the night with 63%.

The Usos got their rematch at SummerSlam and the match was unfortunately relegated to the pre-show. They still killed it in a match where the Usos regained their titles.

- The main event that night (fatal 4-way for the Universal title) was the clear winner for match of night. New Day/Usos, despite being a pre-show match, still came in second in the poll.

In Las Vegas on a special SmackDown, they had their last match, which was a Las Vegas Street Fight. The New Day regained their titles again and predictably, it was a blast.

Both teams knew another match was coming so the New Day put down the challenge. If they’re going to do it at Hell in a Cell, why not do it inside Hell in a Cell?

It isn’t that this is a blood feud like the other Cell match this year. It’s more that these teams have torn down the house every time so may as well up the ante with a big time stipulation. They’re not in the Cell because they absolutely hate each other. The don’t like each other but there’s clearly respect there. They just want to continue to raise that bar.

These teams will likely finish up their epic feud tonight at Hell in a Cell. And there’s a good chance of it topping that match of the night poll yet again.

Hell in a Cell will air tonight at 8 EST on the WWE Network. Keep it here to CagesideSeats.com for all your HIAC coverage.
