NXT’s Instagram

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Samoa Joe is set for a “monster push” when he hits the main roster, according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. That could include a high-profile WrestleMania match.
  • Dave Meltzer also says that Mania card is changing, as Vince McMahon has reportedly pulled John Cena vs. Undertaker AND Taker vs. Braun Strowman from the list of possible matches. It’s not known what the Dead Man will be doing, but Vince also doesn’t want him competing for the World or Universal title.
  • Kenny Omega’s believed to have been offered a two year contract to stay with New Japan, but the Observer says no one is sure if he’s accepted the deal.
  • Lucha Underground’s hiatus is said to be because they aren’t filming season four until 2018, so they wanted to have two separate, smaller delays rather than burn through season three and take a year off.
  • Jim Ross is teasing Josh Barnett heading to TNA in some capacity.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
