TNA did everything it could to promote the sequel to Final Deletion, Delete or Decay, which aired on last night’s (Sept. 8, 2016) episode of Impact. But while there was obvious interest, it wasn’t on the same level as the original.
Indeed, this week’s show drew 337,000 viewers. That’s down from last week’s 351,000 viewers and nowhere near the 410,000 viewers Final Deletion drew, the most watched episode of the year.
Here are the numbers for the past month:
- Aug. 11: 315,000 viewers
- Aug. 18: 355,000 viewers
- Aug. 25: 373,000 viewers
- Sept. 1: 351,000 viewers
You’ll surely see the blame for this being put on the return of the NFL to Thursday nights in the same time slot but TNA may not have a big enough audience for it to matter either which way. This is about what you can expect them to draw going forward.
Unless, of course, Delete or Decay was actually a big success because it prevented a big drop off. If that’s the case, and we’ll find out next week, we’ll know just how much the NFL does hurt.
